Executive Chef Derek Smith’s culinary passion began
by baking cakes and pastries with his 'mum' at 10 years old. By age 15,
he was working in a kitchen and entering into a formal apprenticeship
program in his native Australia. In his 20 years as a chef, Derek has
worked in many hotels, restaurants, private clubs, and catering
facilities, including Australia's largest private club in Melbourne and
the prestigious Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta. He has also
been featured on Good Day Atlanta and at the Atlanta Home and Design
