Carl House attracts new Executive Chef

Announcing the hiring of Melanie Hanke as Carl House’s new Executive Chef, owner BB Webb said that her special events facility has reached a new milestone.

 “Our weddings are keeping us busier than ever”, she explains, “but those are week-end events. We have recently decided to branch out into the corporate world, where meetings and events are typically held on week days, and having Melanie with us gives our guests access to the most creative, satisfying cuisine in the area; she is truly a culinary artist.”

Hanke, an Atlanta native, is, with a degree in Culinary Arts, a 1998 honors graduate of the Culinary Art Institute of Atlanta; as part of her education, she trained at the Culinary Institute “Am Judenplatz” in Vienna, Austria. Following a brief stint as Certified Pastry Cook for the Ritz Carlton hotel in Atlanta, she spent the next seven years at Château Élan, with growing areas of responsibility, culminating in the position of Spa Chef for Fleur de Lis, Château Élan Winery & Resort, just prior to taking up her new position at Carl House.

 “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work at Carl House in such an expanding and positive atmosphere, assisting in creating memorable corporate and social events”, says Hanke, who is firmly placing her mark on the Carl House culture of elegance, style and hospitality. “I look forward to working with each guest with the intent of delighting their culinary senses.”
